Secondary NQT Programme

Overview

The President Kennedy Teaching School Alliance Secondary NQT Programme is designed to support colleagues new to the profession during the early stages of their teaching careers and beyond.  The programmes of support are led by outstanding teachers, Professional Mentors and Specialist Leaders of Education with a proven track record of supporting NQTs to become highly successful and effective teachers.  Using an ‘Action Research’ approach, ITT Teaching Fellows of the University of Warwick from within PKTSA will monitor the progress of NQTs throughout the year, maintaining appropriate contact with mentors and offering support and guidance.

This programme helps NQTs to;

  • Build on skills learnt during the PGCE by providing them with an opportunity to reflect on their practice through peer observation and collaborative professional development
